In this case it's going to be a Chick-Fil-A Sandwich but you can find recipes on this channel for many of your fast food favorites done vegan style. There is in fact a recipe for a Taco Bell Chili Cheese Burrito, Taco Bell Fries, and even Popeye's Spicy Chicken. This recipe matches the unique flavors of a Chick-fil-A Spicy Chicken Deluxe sandwich while steadfastly remaining vegan. This is accomplished, obviously, by not using real chicken. Much like the Buffalo Chicken Caesar Wrap recently debuted on the channel your choice of chicken alternative is completely up to you. Candice does have a recipe for Seitan Vegan Chicken you can find on the channel or you could use any one of a number of great chicken alternatives you can find at your local health food store. Once you have decided on your vegan chicken alternative it's time to work on your breading. As any of you who have eaten a Chick-fil-A sandwich know, their breading is absolutely out of this world. As Candice shows you in this vegan recipe video it's not as hard to replicate as you might think She starts out by taking a mid-sized glass bowl and filling it about 1/3 of the way with vegan flour, and yes there is a difference, luckily you can easily find vegan flour at any health food store. Follow along with Candice in the video and add paprika, pepper, powdered sugar, plenty of cayenne, salt, chili pepper, baking powder and garlic powder. The idea behind this recipe is to make an authentic Chick-fil-A sandwich and that requires using some authentic ingredients to achieve that special flavor, one of those is the powdered sugar. The powdered sugar, in conjunction with the baking powder will give your breading that unique crispy, crunchy texture. Whisk all these ingredients together until they are mixed well. Next you will need to put 4 eggs worth of egg replacer into a bowl, add some pickle juice and a bit of hot sauce. Candice has been told the pickle juice is the key to the secret recipe that comprises the Chick-fil-A sandwich. Whisk of all that together and set it aside for the moment. Now take your vegan chicken and put it into your flour mixture getting an even coating on it. Then take your vegan chicken and put it into your egg solution, also coating evenly. Then, and this is what is going to make the breading for this vegan recipe turn out amazing, put it back into the flour mixture and be sure to keep coating it evenly. If you happen to have a deep fryer on hand this is the point at which you will put your chicken into it, if not you can always pan fry it in enough oil to make sure it is completely submerged. Candice recommends a deep fryer to get an authentic flavor as that is the way the Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich is actually prepared in their restaurants. Let your vegan chicken filet fry for about 5 minutes, just until it's nice and golden brown and then take it out placing it on a plate with some paper towels or napkins on it to soak up excess grease. The last part of this vegan recipe for a Chick-fil-A sandwich will be to simply put it all together. Lightly steam your buns, place a slice of vegan cheese on the bottom, your filet on top of that, top with pickles, and add your top bun. Voila! You have now created the epic world famous Chick-fil-A sandwich vegan style. Like what you see here?
